Onions 52 Inc. has welcomed Clay Jones to its sales and business development team. Jones is based in San Antonio, TX, and will be focusing on new account development and expanding business with current customers.

“We could not be happier to have Clay join our team,” said Shawn Hartley, vice president of sales. “With Clay’s extensive industry knowledge and experience, he will be a great asset to the Onions 52 team.”

My experience in retail procurement will serve as a valuable asset to both the Onions 52 team, and to current and future customers we service. I am extremely grateful and excited for this opportunity,” Jones said.

Jones joins the team with nearly eight years of experience in produce procurement, forecasting, and vendor relations. He got his start in the produce industry with HEB in San Antonio after completing his bachelor's degree in agribusiness, and master’s degree in agriculture economics from Texas A&M. During his five years at HEB, Jones moved up the produce ranks from buyer to business development manager working on a variety of fruit, vegetable, and value-add categories.

Most recently, he celebrated two years as the vegetable category manager for Food Lion in Salisbury, NC. During his time there, Jones implemented category strategy, innovation, and vendor partnerships driving record-setting results year over year.
