Procacci Holdings LLC's operation in the Philadelphia Produce Market is strong and continues to grow. Garden State Farms, solely owned and operated by Procacci Holdings, has recently expanded by acquiring A.Vassallo Inc., its friendly competitor and neighbor.

From the beginning, the DiPascale family, owners of A.Vassallo, and the Procacci family maintained a friendly working partnership to serve the needs of the produce market. Combining the two family-run companies expands their customer pool and increases product quality and availability.

“It was a natural expansion to our Garden State Farms operation,” said J.M. Procacci, chief executive officer of Procacci Holdings LLC. “As we continue to expand, our commitment to the market is integral to our growth.” With the acquisition, Procacci Bros.' Garden State Farms has four units at the market.

Mike Maxwell, president of Procacci Bros., addresses the rapid growth in the regional produce market: “Philadelphia is seeing more local crops coming in from the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and New York.
