Continuing its Ontario expansion, Farm Boy will soon bring its wholesome fresh market concept to downtown Ottawa at 193 Metcalfe Street.
The fresh urban concept store, at 28,000 square feet, will showcase Farm Boy fresh favorites to residentsand shoppers working in downtown Ottawa. The store is expected to open spring 2020.True to Farm Boy roots, the location will deliver local shoppers a world-class food experience with exceptional customer service and an abundant selection of the freshest foods.
In addition to plentiful farm fresh produce, the store will showcase butcher quality meats, artisanal cheese and fresh dairy. Customers can also look forward to a terrific selection of locally made products and plant-based foods, as well as sweet and savory treats made from scratch in the Farm Boy kitchen.
For busy shoppers looking to eat well on the run, Farm Boy will be serving up their fresh, delicious chef-inspired meals with a hot bar, salad bar, and fast-casual restaurant experience that includes mouth-watering, gourmet pizzas and freshly rolled sushi.The store will also include a made-to-order grilling station that will offer restaurant quality breakfast, lunch and dinner with daily features, all ready to take home or enjoy hot in the store’s comfortably designed, Wi-Fi-enabled seating area.

We can’t wait to expand our proven fresh urban concept further in Ottawa’sdowntown core.”
The store is currently a Sobeys Urban Fresh storeand will close to undergo renovations on Aug. 6. Employees will be transferredto work in neighbouring Sobeys and Farm Boy locations while the store is closed for renovation and construction. Employees will also be provided the opportunity to return to the Metcalfe location when it opens as a Farm Boy fresh urban concept store.
