The British Columbia Fruit Growers Association awarded Devin Jell the Golden Apple Award on Tuesday, Feb. 26 in Kelowna, BC. The recipient of the Golden Apple is selected for their achievements in growing top-quality fruit using advanced horticultural practices.

For the past two years, Jell has grown Ambrosia apples for CFP, which are sold in the Big Taste and Just Picked brands. "It is an honor for CFP to have such an astute grower who innovates, takes pride in growing, and continues to strive for top-quality production," the company said in a statement.

Jell has adapted trellis technology to maximize yield, was an early adopter of reflective materials for color enhancement and achieves high percentage pack outs with ideal-sized commercial fruit.

"We are proud to have a top performing grower on our team," said Bryan Key, category director at CFP. "Devin has been acknowledged as the best in our industry and at CFP our best growers get rewarded."

Jell’s award winning Ambrosia crop is currently available through CFP. Bagged and bulk apples with store merchandising promotions are in full swing.
